Ever wonder what other solopreneurs are using to build, maintain, and run their business effectively? There are so many tools out there it can be overwhelming, especially with new features and programs hitting the market each and every day.

You don't need them all, you just need a few that work well for you.

In the end the best tools are the ones you feel comfortable using.

After a year of tried and true testing, I've trimmed the fat, cut out the BS, and ended up with a core tool stack that's affordable, easy to use, and produces amazing results.

Now, I get to share them with you!

FULL REVIEWS

Why I love it:

I honestly don't know what I'd do without Canva. Canva cuts down on design time and help you build – well, literally everything. Logos, social graphics, guides, workbooks, flyers, websites and more. The templates are beautiful and easy to tweak and export. You can even quickly generate digital mockups of your products. They have AI integrations for copywriting and, Magic Studio, which uses a simple prompt to autocreate whatever content you need.

Cost:

The free version is a great starting point but well worth the $119/year to unlock Pro and get access to all of the features.

Why I love it:

I tried a lot of other AI writing tools before I found jenni and once I did, I fell in love and never looked back. Jenni is made to write articles but it's one of the few writing tools I've found that doesn't sound like it was written by AI and also includes accurate citations. I use it to write the outlines for new articles and expand my thinking. It's a wealth of information and my partner-in-crime for writer's block and generating helpful information quickly.

Cost:

The free version is a great starting point but well worth the $144/year to unlock Unlimited and get access to all of the features with expanded word counts.

Why I love it:

AI is good but it's not that good. Most publications can detect and will restrict AI generated copy. Aside from that, humans still can tell what's AI and what's not and if you want copy that touches the soul and inspires (and isn't plagiarized), AI copy isn't going to get you there. If I am using AI to help me brainstorm copy, I always put it through undetectable.ai. Then, to polish it off, I edit it myself and do a last run through grammarly.com.

*Note that the humanized copy often has spelling and grammatical errors so make sure to run your humanized copy through grammary.com after.

Cost:

undetectable offers a pretty decent free plan and then offers flexible pricing depending on your needs, starting at $5/month

Why I love it:

Grammarly is my hero. It helps me take out superfluous words and trim my copy into clear, concise and grammatically correct sentences. Grammarly makes me a better writer and I definitely learn from it too.

Cost:

I used the free version for years and recently upgraded to get full access and I'm so glad I did. It's just $144/year and totally worth the money if you write a lot.

Why I love it:

If you're anything like me, posting on social media every day is...well, not my favorite. It's overwhelming to keep up with trends, think of new content, and stay on a consistent schedule, all of which are needed to grow your audience. Tailwind has made that super easy. They take the information about your business and turn it into an auto recommendation tool and scheduler. It's like having a full time Social Media Content Creator! It includes Ghost Writer credits which use AI to help you write content as well.

Cost:

The free forever plan is great for one social account and 20 posts per month. If you want to expand your reach, plans are $179/year up to $600/year, which is still cheaper than hiring a professional.

Why I love it:

If you're getting started with your business, it's essential to build a business plan, identify your market, know your positioning, and understand your competitors. Venturekit helps you put together a solid business plan to start out. It uses a quick series of prompts to understand your business and then generates it all for you in under 10 minutes. Way quicker than trying to find templates online and writing it yourself.

Cost:

Free to start generating a plan or $16/month for small businesses. who need it regularly.

Why I love it:

I've used Squarespace and Shopify as well but I just love Wix. Wix is your all in one place to create a website, manage your subscribers and customers, write blogs, view web analytics, ensure accessibility, and drive traffic from Google.. They now have Wix Studio which is a full AI based website creator. Wix is super easy to use, and my go-to for all of my websites.

Cost:

$16/month to $32/month for most individual and small business needs

Why I love it:

Like they say on their website, founderpal is marketing strategy tools for solopreneurs who hate marketing. I don't hate marketing, but I do love founderpal. The platform works by using a few prompts about your business to determine your target audience, positioning, product or service offers and strategy. Well worth the cut in time it would take to do this all on your own.

Cost:

$69 to generate one strategy and $199 one-time payment for unlimited access.
